CAUTHE - tourism and hospitality education and research association in Australia
Special Interest Groups
As part of the strategic plan to 2012 CAUTHE is assisting our members to develop and coordinate special interest groups (SIGs). This will help to provide interaction between members, other associations and affiliates in Australia and beyond. Proposed SIGs can be a research or teaching related group. All SIGs have their own co-ordinators and involve a range of members, including students and overseas members.
CAUTHE will provide website presence, integrate SIGs into the annual conference, facilitate projects and links with other organisations, and provide some financial assistance to help SIGs host meetings or symposia outside of the annual conference. The CAUTHE executive will assess the viability of any SIG in the event that there is no activity in a two year period.
Currently CAUTHE supports four SIGs including:
-
Critical Approaches in Tourism and Hospitality
-
The Student Experience
-
Tourism and Volunteering
-
Service Sector Innovation
Please the read information about each of the SIGs on this website to find out more about their activities and projects, and contact the SIG co-ordinator Dr Dianne Dredge, dianne.dredge@scu.edu.au to discuss the SIG application process for forming new SIGs.
